A soft and subtle, unedited sound recording from my studio in leeds. On the top floor of my terraced house, i have a large window that opens out onto a quiet street in north leeds. A school is nearby, so there are some elements of children screaming, but overall you get a nice wash of bird song, quiet car sounds and mild wind. This recording would be excellent for atmospheric sound for film, tv or whatever else. Sound design that i made for a video game,layered a bunch of sounds and processed them to create an impactful sci-fi sound. This one is a spaceship door opening.

A large (12 person) elevator located in an apartment building that was built as a hotel for the 1972 olympic games in munich, germany. There are four of these in the building, and they all rattle like nobody's business. In this recording, a part of the elevator arrival chime that plays on the ground floor can be heard in the beginning. Then, i walk into the elevator (two clicks in the recording here) and the doors close. Then it travels up 12 floors and the doors open with a very concerning metal rubbing sound.

A 3-inch folding pocket-knife opening and closing. Recorded very close to the microphone. Makes a snick/click sound. The sharp blade folds into a steel housing so the sound is metal on metal. Recorded: august 2014, with android voice recorder (mono), inside/evening in very quiet room. Noise reduction with audacity.

I recorded the sound of my wooden, squeaky screen door opening and then bouncing shut with a couple bangs. You can hear the squeak of the hinges as the door is opened, then again as it starts to close. The stretching and retraction of the spring is slightly noticeable. The door bounces a couple times as it closes, and you can also hear the latch rattling at this time. Recorded with audacity on my computer using a cheap, hand-held piezo mic. Recorded inside a closet. Low noise, not much reverb. Sounds almost machine-like with a satisfying thump. Recorded on a phone. I messed around with it to get it to sound nice. In case you do something that mixes the channels: on the opening part i copied a 5khz to 8. 5khz band from the left to the right channel, so that frequency band is mono.

Multiple sounds combined to created the actions of a car being stolen off the street. Car window broken, door opened and closed, attempt to start engine, engine starting and doing a burnout as it speeds away.
